FREE CNA Practice Test: Basic Nursing Skills 6
Welcome to the CNA Practice Test for Basic Nursing Skills!
As you prepare for your career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, you are learning both the information and the skills that will keep your patients comfortable and safe. Because you have the opportunity to spend the most time with patients, you will often recognize and report subtle changes in their conditions that other team members wouldn’t notice. These observations will make a difference in patient outcomes.
Basic Nursing Skills are the heart of all nursing care. These skills will help your patients throughout your entire career. CNA.plus offers a variety of Basic Nursing Skills practice tests to help you prepare for your state’s written CNA examination. While each state can have slightly different requirements for the exam, you can expect that most of the questions will involve some aspect of basic care.
Some of the questions you’ll be asked in this Basic Skills practice test include:
- Role of the CNA in patient admission and discharge
- Medical terms and proper abbreviations
- Understanding the circulatory system
- Importance of body mechanics
- Avoiding skin breakdown
- Practice with vital signs
Taking each of these practice tests several times will help you become confident about your knowledge and abilities. The questions on the CNA.plus practice tests are similar to those you will see when you take your actual CNA examination. Each question has four possible choices for the correct answer. Always read each question carefully! Sometimes the question can ask you to choose the only incorrect response.
If you’re not sure if you know the answer, or the question has new information that you haven’t seen before, click on the Hint button below the fourth answer option. You’ll get a clue to help you figure out the correct answer. When you choose an answer, the test will go directly to the next question if you’re right. If you made a mistake, don’t worry. An explanation of the correct answer will automatically appear to give you immediate feedback. Take notes if you want, so you can go back to your textbooks and resources.
CNA.plus likes to help you see how well you’re progressing as you take the practice tests. In the upper left corner of your computer screen, you can see a numbered grid. With each question, the squares of the grid will turn green with your correct answers or red with the incorrect ones. At any time, you can click on the “Restart the test” button under the grid. The questions will shuffle into a new order, the same as if you were using flashcards. We’re proud to be part of your study plan. We wish you great success in your CNA career!
