What are the different methods of bathing for residents?

1.Tub bath or shower: Done when the resident is able to safely get in and out of the tub or shower. The entire body is washed, including the perineum. 2. Bed bath: Given when a resident is unable to ambulate or is too weak to get in and out of a tub. A complete bed bath includes changing bed sheets. 3. Partial bath: Performed when the resident is incontinent of urine or stool. Only the body parts that have been soiled are cleaned. Linens that are dirty are also changed.
