What to do if a patient or resident asks to see their priest, pastor, or rabbi

A patient or resident is absolutely entitled to see their clergy or a person of authority in their belief. If the patient or resident makes this request: 1. Notify the charge nurse. 2. The nurse will speak with the patient or resident to determine what they need or if there is a specific person they would like to be contacted. 3. The nurse will call or make arrangements for the appropriate clergy member to visit the patient or resident.
