CNA Practice Test: Communication and Interpersonal Skills 1

Reviewed by Winona Suzanne Ball, Nursing Adviser, RN | MHS, Governors State University, IL, Full member of the American Nurses Association.

These 25 practice questions will help you prepare for the 2024 CNA examination. The practice questions are based on the categories that are included in the exam. They are similar (and often identical) to the actual CNA exam questions. Each question has been researched, and the answer verified. Communication is the heart of patient care. As a CNA, you are fortunate to be able to build solid relationships with your clients. You will have the opportunity to work with patients from other cultures as well as those with special needs. Your ability to communicate with them and report to your team members is essential.

Topics covered in this practice test include the following:

  • Active listening skills
  • Working with clients from other cultures
  • Assisting clients who are vision and hearing impaired
  • How to ask good questions
  • Understanding body language
  • Conflict resolution

Each practice question is multiple choice with four answer options. Read the question carefully and select the best answer. If you are not sure, click on the Hint button under the options to read a hint that can help you choose the correct answer. If you still miss the question, an explanation will pop up to help you understand. If you fail the test, you can restart it and try again. Good luck!
